New York Tarp & Company (“NY Tarp,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates nytarp.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when it may be shared, how we protect it, and the choices available to visitors and customers.

Information we collect

We may collect information you provide when you place an order, request a quote, contact the factory, create or use a customer account, or subscribe to marketing. This may include your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, order details, project measurements, and messages.

Shopify and our service providers may also collect technical and usage information such as IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, referring URLs, cart and checkout events, and cookie or similar technology identifiers.

How we use information

We use information to process and fulfill orders, provide shipping and customer service, answer product and measurement questions, prevent fraud and misuse, maintain the store, improve products and the shopping experience, send marketing where permitted, and comply with legal, accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations.

Cookies and similar technologies

We and our partners, including Shopify, may use essential cookies and similar technologies for security, cart and checkout functions, preferences, analytics, and marketing. Details are in our Cookies and Data Use Policy. Where consent is required, non-essential collection is controlled through the applicable Shopify privacy settings or consent tools.

Sharing and service providers

We may share information with Shopify, payment processors, shipping and fulfillment providers, analytics and marketing providers, fraud-prevention services, customer-support providers, professional advisers, and government authorities when required by law. These providers may process information on our behalf or under their own privacy terms.

We do not ask customers to send full payment-card numbers by email or through the contact form. Payment information is handled through the payment and checkout services made available by Shopify and the relevant payment provider.

Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including order fulfillment, customer support, accounting and tax records, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and resolving disputes. We keep contact requests until they are handled and retain marketing preferences as needed to honor opt-outs. When information is no longer needed, we delete it, securely dispose of it, or de-identify it where reasonably feasible, subject to backups, legal obligations, and legitimate business records.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Do not send passwords, full payment-card numbers, or other sensitive credentials through email or the contact form.

Your choices and privacy requests

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or ask questions about our data practices. You may unsubscribe from marketing messages using the instructions in the message. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have additional rights regarding access, deletion, correction, portability, restriction, objection, or opting out of certain data sharing or targeted advertising.

Children

Our store is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the store.

International processing

Shopify and service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. The protections applicable to that processing depend on the provider, the service, and applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices, services, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date above identifies the current version.
