CORDURA® Fabric by the Yard

CORDURA® fabric by the yard gives projects a durable nylon option when abrasion, tear resistance, weight, width, coating, and hand all matter. NY Tarp lists CORDURA® nylon constructions, fixed-length cuts, and related ballistic nylon fabrics with the exact sales unit and specifications shown on each product page.

Choose the right CORDURA® construction

  • 500D CORDURA® nylon: a lighter construction for bags, equipment, accessories, and reinforcement where flexibility and lower bulk matter.
  • 1000D CORDURA® nylon: a heavier construction for projects that need more structure and abrasion reserve. The listed urethane-coated option is 60 inches nominal width and sold by the linear yard.
  • Fixed continuous cuts: some listings are sold as a three-yard bolt or a six-yard continuous length rather than as one-yard quantities.
  • 1050D ballistic nylon: a separate dense 2 × 2 basket-weave option for luggage, equipment bags, tool bags, panels, and other high-wear sewn goods. “Ballistic” describes the weave, not bullet resistance.

How to compare the material

  1. Start with the intended use: bags, backpacks, luggage, equipment, footwear, outerwear, panels, or reinforcement.
  2. Compare the exact denier, weave, finished weight, width, color, coating, and hand. Denier alone is not a complete performance specification.
  3. Check the sales unit. One listing may be sold by the linear yard, while another is a fixed continuous bolt or cut length.
  4. For a color-critical, continuous-cut, custom-size, or specification-sensitive project, confirm the exact option and current availability before ordering.
