Mesh fabrics by the yard

Compare current mesh by its opening, fiber, width and edge requirements. Check whether the chosen listing is sold by the yard or as a complete roll.

Choose mesh by construction and opening size

Compare the listed opening size, fiber, width and order format. A millimeter designation alone does not establish stretch, strength, thickness or outdoor performance.

Match the mesh to the panel or pocket design and its edge treatment. Confirm the exact material and any required test data for a load-bearing or specification-sensitive application.

Before choosing a product

List the smallest item the mesh must hold, whether the panel needs to stretch, and how its edge will be finished. Opening size and thickness are separate measurements. Test a seam in the intended layers; a useful bag-pocket mesh is not automatically suitable for a safety barrier.

Choose the opening and the finished edge together

An open mesh can provide airflow, visibility or a ventilated panel, but construction determines how it behaves in the finished item. Test the smallest contents against the opening and compare the sample over its intended backing. Nylon, polyester and spacer mesh should be evaluated separately.

Allow for binding, seams and the usable panel area before calculating yardage. A 3, 4 or 7 mm listing designation is not a load, stretch or safety rating. Spacer thickness and the width of a complete roll also need their own checks; choose those details on the product page.
